We host monthly networking events and topic forums so that you can trade advice and insight with your peers. Local Biz Coffee Meetings & Happy HoursJoin us for our regular informal meetings at local businesses and enjoy engaging conversations about your business and our community. We work with local legal, financial, and marketing consultants to make services available to you. Buzz BoxMonthly, real-scale events where we jump right into the challenges you’re facing in your business, and share ideas, resources and strategies for solving them. It’s a new way to learn from fellow business owners how to innovate solutions that address the changing economy and adapt to the needs of our community. Some Buzz Box events have themes such as marketing, taxes and energy efficiency, and others are open for discussion. (find out more and register for the next Buzz Box) Final Friday Resource DayEvery final friday of the month, partner organizations and business experts are available at our office to provide a no-pressure setting for you to get advice on a variety of topics. Small Business Energy ProgramMHBA is working with local officials to connect local businesses with energy efficiency resources. Through this program, you can:

Small Business Week ForumSmall Business Week (held annually in mid May) culminates in a one-day forum designed specifically to connect business owners with community resources to help their businesses succeed.The 2011 Forum included over 30 free workshops and one-on-one consultations about starting a new business, supporting or expanding your existing business, connecting with your community, and government policy. Business Referrals & AssistanceWe've learned a lot about the organizations, programs and resources available to business owners, and we help connect you with the tools, resources, and people you need to support your business. Our staff works to stay on top of local legislation and is always present to speak to your specific needs as a small business owner. Mayoral Candidates ForumWe gathered together 9 of the 10 Denver Mayoral candidates to discuss the future of Denver's local economy. Candidates Carol Boigon, Michael Hancock, Doug Linkhart, Danny Lopez, James Mejia, Jeff Peckman, Ken Simpson, Theresa Spahn and Thomas Andrew Wolf participated in conversation around the important role small and local business plays in Denver's economy. Staying on Top of ThingsSometimes this means speaking at House meetings, other times, it's in the relationships we build with local decision makers. We're always speaking up and speaking out about the issues that local and small business owners face. You can follow some of our efforts and see what other like-minded folks are doing to help on our blog with the tags "legislation" or "government." |
