New Colorado Local First Ad Campaign Spotted!

Last night, brand-spankin' new RTD bus ads were spotted on the 16th Street Mall Ride. The ads feature local business owners Cindy Kent from A La Carte Gifts & Baskets and Paul Epstein from Twist & Shout. Their lovely photos lie alongside compelling numbers that illustrate the amount of money that remains within Colorado annually when one chooses to buy from local businesses.

Colorado Local First Campaign Updates

It has been a very exciting month for the Colorado Local First campaign. We currently have "Stop Money Wandering" signs in 100 metro area RTD buses, and we're wrapping up sponsorship for the 2009 campaign. Through our partnerships and media sponsors, we're able to turn every dollar of underwriting into over $12 of media exposure for Colorado Local First. (find out more about underwriting)

Twist & Shout, one of Denver's best independent record stores and a founding member of the MHBA, Twist & Shout music storepublishes a seasonal printed newsletter with local news and music info. This winter's newsletter also features an article about the Mile High Business Alliance and Colorado Local First.

Governor Ritter Proclaims Colorado Local First Week

Today I picked up an honorary proclamation from Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Jr., proclaiming November Governor Bill Ritter Proclaims Colorado Local First Week23-29, 2008 as "Colorado Local First Week." This is very exciting for us as we work to raise awareness of the vital link between locally owned businesses and a stable local economy.
