All too often, I post articles and discuss the importance of the local economy at an intermediate to advanced level. I live my day to day life waist-deep in this stuff, even when it comes to lifestyle. (Yes, I'm most certainly Livin' La Vida Locavore.) However, everyone is on his or her own journey, and I want to respect the full range of backgrounds. Today, I came across this great article written by Wendell Berry back in 2001. He covers the basics of what makes up a total economy, thoroughly setting the stage for the Local First movement.
